# Which name will be shown on a donation receipt: my full name or preferred name?

When completing your profile on the platform, you will be asked to provide both your full name and a preferred name. However, if your employer uses SSO or an HR platform, your full name and preferred may already be predetermined.

Your preferred name will be displayed on your profile, while your full legal name will appear on donation receipts for legal and tax purposes.
